Job Purpose

Are you passionate about cloud technology and eager to take your DevOps skills to the next level? Join our Modular/MTS team as a DevOps Specialist and dive into the exciting world of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in automating and optimizing our software delivery processes, ensuring our applications are deployed and maintained with speed, efficiency, and reliability. You'll work alongside experienced corporate DevOps, learn from industry best practices, and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in automating and streamlining software development and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).
Perform configuration and management tasks for Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security services.
Monitor and troubleshoot applications and infrastructure using observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
Collaborate with developers and operations teams to resolve incidents and implement solutions.
Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps technologies and best practices.
Maintain a strong understanding of security principles and implement them throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Continuously strive to improve efficiency and automate processes to reduce manual effort and increase agility.

Required Skills

Degree Computer Science or other related field or equivalent prior work experience.
Experience and comfort working in a Linux environment, including environments which are purely command line based.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
Experience working with end users and providing direct support.
Basic knowledge of and experience with containers and orchestration platforms (Docker and Kubernetes are preferred);
Solid knowledge of and experience with observability/monitoring (Grafana and Prometheus are preferred);
Basic experience working with cloud service providers (Azure is preferred);
Experience with computer networking, including TCP/IP stack protocol inspection.
Understanding of and basic experience with DevOps and GitOps practices in production environments.
Basic knowledge of and experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure devops is preferred);
Basic understanding of microservices architecture.
Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.

Desired Skills

Basic knowledge of and deployment experience with Kafka and Postgres.
Linux command-line proficiency, package management, understanding of filesystems and file permissions, shell scripting, system and service management, networking, security, system performance monitoring.
Experience with Microsoft IoT Edge and IoT Hub.
Experience with production-grade storage solutions for Kubernetes.
