Job Overview
- DISASSEMBLE MECHANICAL COMPONENTS
- REASSEMBLE SMALL MECHANICAL COMPONENTS AS WELL AS LARGER COMPONENTS SUCH AS CUTTER HEAD GEARCASES AND LONGWALL GEAR BOXES PERFORM CAUSAL WELDING PROCESSES IN THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS OF COMPONENTS AND MACHINES (TACKS, THREADED BOSS POSITIONING AND OTHER SUCH WELDS NOT REQUIRING STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY).
- TROUBLESHOOTING OF COMPONENTS
- PERFORM CASUAL METAL CUTTING PROCESS USING STANDARD TORCHES FOR TRIMMING AND OTHER SUPERFICIAL OR COSMETIC PURPOSES.
- OPERATE OVERHEAD AND JIB CRANES.
- OPERATE SMALL AND LARGE, POWERED FORK TRUCKS.
- OPERATE VARIOUS AIR POWERED HAND TOOLS.
- ENSURE THAT WRITTEN QUALITY STANDARDS AND PROCEDURES ARE STRICTLY ADHERED TO
- FOLLOW ESTABLISHED SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROCEDURES. ENSURE ALL WORK AREAS ARE CLEAN AND ORDERLY.
- OTHER JOB DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
- INSPECTION OF GEARINGS AND BEARINGS
Qualifications/Requirements
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
- 2-3 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A HEAVY EQUIPMENT, MECHANICALLY RELATED FIELD
- 2-3 YEARS PRACTICAL MECHANICAL ASSEMBLY WITH EMPHASIS ON BEARING AND SEAL INSTALATION, GEARING MESH/BACKLASH AND STANDARD INDUSTRIAL TOLERANCE FITS.
- READ, UNDERSTAND AND ASSEMBLE FROM FACTORY BLUEPRINTS, DRAWINGS, PIPING AND HOSING DIAGRAMS.
- BASIC OPERATING SKILLS IN MIG AND STICK WELDING.
- BASIC OPERATING SKILLS IN CUTTING TORCH PROCESSES.
- CERTIFIED OPERATOR, POWERED FORK TRUCKS.
- TRAINED OPERATOR, OVERHEAD CRANES
