Job Specification (not totally inclusive)
- Examine proposed contracts to ensure that the obligation potentially to be undertaken can be realized, and do not increase the risk profile of the business beyond acceptable risk level.
- Ensure that contractual obligations and terms are clearly documented and effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
- Ensure that the approval route for any changes in pricing of spares is sound and involves the minimum authorizations that are appropriate.
- Tracking relevant cost pushing indicators to ensure that pricing escalations can be sufficiently substantiated and implemented.
- Verify that the approval process for any potential capital sales is properly followed, and that the required minimum authorizations are obtained to guarantee timely and adequate approval.
- Review and assess customer proposals, implementing viable solutions that add value to the business.
- Complete accurate sales trend analysis and produce and communicate monthly.
- Produce high-quality proposals that uphold professional standards, contributing to the business’s efforts to drive sales and meet target margins.
- Develop and manage the departmental budget, while providing training and coaching to direct reports; and
- Handling of contract amendments or changes and ensuring that all parties adhere to revised terms.
Minimum Skills required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Finance or Accounting or related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing or engineering environment of which 3 years must have occupied similar role.
- Proven experience in the management and delivery of projects.
- Must have comprehensive understanding of profit/loss and pricing metrics.
- Demonstrated strong strategic and commercial awareness, coupled with industry and competitor knowledge, enabling them to develop winning strategies, viable/profitable offers and creative pricing solutions.
- Proven track record in budgeting, cost control, and commercial negotiations; and
- Proficiency in systems such as SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Proven experience in managing and developing direct reports, including setting objectives, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth.
