Job Specification (not totally inclusive)
- Responsible for managing all exchange control applications, including both annual submissions and ad hoc requests, in compliance with regulatory requirements;
- Ensure compliance with import and export regulations, including the preparation and signing of the annual import letter confirmation;
- Managing of dividend payment, preparing the liquidity and solvency test to ensure compliance with Companies Act, liaise with the bank to ensure payment to the UK is made without error;
- Serve as the point of contact and administrator for cross-border transactions involving financial institutions;
- Prepare and manage the annual budget forecast to effectively guide and monitor monthly expenditure in line with financial targets;
- Perform the monthly foreign exchange revaluation on USD-based royalty liabilities related to intercompany transactions;
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards;
- Process journal entries, prepare various financial reports, and perform general ledger reconciliations to support financial integrity and audit readiness;
- Preparation and analysis of foreign purchase order detail from the system to understand and establish the amount of forward cover required. Compare existing cover to analysis performed to see if there is an additional need to purchase Forward Exchange Contracts;
- Analyzing the reserve balances on all cost per tonne contracts per mine to identify loss making contracts to establish required actions to be taken;
- Review all existing leases for variances on the lease accelerator. Liaise with procurement to ensure all leases are up to date and accurate;
- Managing insurance policies and ensuring policies are up to date and relevant claims are settled;
- IFRS 16 knowledge of leases and lease accelerator;
- Cost per ton reporting and analysis;
- Ensure that details sent by Procurement for new Vendor creation is accurate and complete; and
- Preparation of monthly cut off control.
Minimum Skills required
- BCom Degree or equivalent qualification;
- 3–5 years of recent experience in a similar role;
- Proven experience in cash flow management and forecasting;
- Exposure to foreign creditors and international payments;
- Experience with foreign exchange rates in major currencies, including dealing with foreign exchange rate;
- Solid understanding of cross-border imports and exports processes;
- Proficiency in Ms Excel and data analysis and
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
