Job Overview

 

If you’re the technician people call when the problem is complex, the voltage is high, and the downtime is expensive — this role is built for you. Join a team that tackles advanced diagnostics, commissioning, and field repairs on of LeTourneau loaders and some of the most sophisticated mining equipment in the industry. You’ll work independently, travel to customer sites, and apply deep mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical expertise to keep critical machines running at peak performance.

Reports to: Lead, Technical Service
Shift: 7x7 or 14x14, 12 hours per day
Travel: up to 50% travel required for this role
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Safety Sensitive: Yes- Drug & Alcohol testing, Physical Demand Fit testing, RCMP Criminal Record Check and submission of 5-year Provincial driving record will be required
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation, but we are open to local and FIFO candidates

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support equipment builds, commissioning, and follow‑up service in the field
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical issues
  • Provide on‑site technical support across multiple product lines
  • Troubleshoot high‑voltage systems and critical machine failures
  • Interface with Product Support to address recurring or high‑impact issues
  • Maintain accurate service records and customer database entries
  • Perform component repairs, adjustments, and replacements at customer sites
  • Uphold strict safety, housekeeping, and equipment‑readiness standards

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Millwright (dual ticket preferred)
  • 4–8 years’ experience maintaining, repairing, and inspecting mining equipment in a remote field environment
  • Experience and understanding of LeTourneau mining loaders and be capable of accurately diagnosing problems
  • Experience with high‑voltage equipment and strong diagnostic capability across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Strong customer‑focused communication skills and a proven technical service track record
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and access any mine site without restrictions
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Experience with CAN Buss communication network is an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French an asset
