Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Delivery Driver to work at our Virginia, MN location.  This position is represented by a union.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Strictly adhere to all company and safety protocols to maintain a hazard-free environment, including the consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out efficient loading and unloading operations for freight trucks, handling all items with care to minimize damage and maintain product integrity.
  • Perform detailed inspections and quality checks upon receipt and dispatch of shipments, documenting any irregularities or damages thoroughly with photographic evidence and written reports to initiate corrective measures promptly.
  • Verify order accuracy against packing lists and shipping documents, promptly addressing discrepancies to ensure precise inventory management and customer satisfaction.
  • Input all receiving data accurately into warehouse management software, ensuring real-time inventory tracking and seamless integration with supply chain systems.
  • Label parts accurately with proper part numbers, organize stock logically within designated warehouse locations, and update inventory records to reflect real-time quantities and placements.
  • Build and prepare shipping containers and pallets according to company standards and compliance with international shipping regulations, ensuring secure packaging for safe transit.
  • Implement strategies to protect materials and equipment from damage during handling, storage, and transportation, including the use of protective wraps and secure stacking methods.
  • Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to confirm compliance with export regulations and documentation requirements for international parts shipments.
  • Participate in regular inventory cycle counts and reconciliations to maintain accuracy and identify potential inventory variances proactively.
  • Support after-hours operational needs through on-call rotations, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to meeting business demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety standards across the warehouse floor, minimizing hazards and optimizing space utilization.
  • Conduct regular reviews of warehouse layout and shelving systems, efficiently reallocating stock locations to improve workflow and maximize storage capacity.
  • Ensure precise and up-to-date inventory records using warehouse management systems and manual audits when necessary, supporting accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Perform additional facility maintenance tasks, including groundskeeping activities such as lawn mowing and parking lot cleaning, contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment.
  • Assess freight weights and handling limits accurately, exercising caution with material handling equipment to uphold safety standards.
  • Plan and sequence warehouse processes, including order picking, packing, and shipping setups, to optimize operational efficiency and meet delivery targets.
  • Protect company assets by vigilantly preventing losses attributable to negligent inspections, spoilage, or mishandling of materials at all stages of warehouse operations.
  • Regularly collaborate with coworkers and production leads to ensure coordinated efforts toward smooth operational flow, emphasizing continuous learning and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is essential, demonstrating authorized and safe operation of delivery vehicles in compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Completion of Forklift Task Training certifies capability in operating forklifts safely within warehouse settings, crucial for efficient material handling.
  • Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Certification applies where relevant, ensuring compliance with mining industry safety regulations and promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Successful candidates typically demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety, an attentive eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prior experience in warehouse logistics or delivery driving enhances performance, supported by excellent organizational skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to problem resolution.

Additional Information

  • Must be capable of performing vertical lifting and carrying, ensuring safe handling techniques to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Perform frequent pushing and pulling motions requiring upper body strength, essential for managing materials efficiently.
  • Execute repetitive manual dexterity tasks with consistent hand-eye coordination vital for precise item handling and packaging.
  • Comfortable with climbing steps and ladders as necessary for accessing elevated storage or performing inspections.
  • Ability to maintain various postures including repetitive and static positions, balancing, bending, and kneeling to support dynamic warehouse tasks.
  • Regular walking and overhead reaching, contributing to the effective management and placement of inventory within the warehouse space.

 

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $27.60. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
