Job Overview

As a Field Service Technician, you will provide on-site support by maintaining and repairing all Komatsu equipment using both Mechanical and Welding applications in a shop or field environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Travel to various sites to provide technical support and troubleshooting

  • Assist with truck assemblies and commissioning checks

  • Provide detailed service reports and deliver excellent customer service

  • Use of judgement to plan, perform and made decisions as the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures

  • Responsibility to prevent damaged due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Understands Welding and Cutting Applications including air arcing, and dual shield wire

  • Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity

  • Clean tools, clean equipment, paint and grease equipment as needed

  • Prevent loss which may result from negligent inspection or testing; from spoilage or wastage of raw or in process materials

  • Will work with a higher Welder or Mechanic to learn to interpret blueprints, operate electrical power tools and pneumatic power tools as well as learning how to follow a scope of work

  • Over 1 year up to and including 3 years mechanical experience and/or weld experience in a similar job, is a plus

  • Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables

  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work

Education/Experience/Other

  • Use of mathematics

  • Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables

  • Use of adjustable measuring instruments.

  • Over 1 year up to and including 3 years mechanical experience and/or weld experience in a similar job, is a plus.

  • Flexible work schedule.

EHS Requirements

  • A valid driver license and able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical job requirements.
