Job Overview
As a Test Engineer I, you will support the validation of ruggedized hardware platforms by executing test activities that verify functionality, performance, and reliability under guidance. You will work closely with experienced engineers to assist with early testing, data collection, and issue identification that help build quality into designs from the start.
This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world hardware validation in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment. It is well suited for engineers who are detail-oriented, curious, and motivated to learn how disciplined testing contributes directly to reliable, field-ready mining technology solutions.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Executes verification and validation activities for hardware, firmware, and integrated systems.
- Applies test procedures and protocols to evaluate functional, performance, and reliability requirements.
- Assists with the development, execution, and maintenance of automated test scripts and test frameworks under guidance.
- Identifies, documents, and communicates defects, anomalies, and risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Assists with test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and analysis in laboratory and field environments.
- Collaborates with engineering teams to support early integration, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
- Maintains accurate test documentation, results, and reports in accordance with established processes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering field with 0–3 years of relevant experience, or
- Associate degree in a closely related technical field with 4–8 years of directly applicable test, validation, or hands-on engineering experience.
- Foundational understanding of electromechanical or embedded systems.
- Ability to follow structured test processes, analyze results, and communicate findings clearly.
- Up to ~10% travel, including laboratory activities, integration support, and limited field exposure.
Desired Skills
- Exposure to hardware or system-level testing and validation activities.
- Familiarity with basic test equipment and instrumentation.
- Experience supporting early integration or prototype testing.
- Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills.
- Interest in full product lifecycle testing and building quality into designs early.
