Job Purpose
Provides Solutions to Komatsu Customers via successful implementation of technology or paid services through Change Management and achieving Operational Excellence. Provides input on improving mining solutions based on business needs with a holistic approach formed through a deep understanding of mine processes. Manages the implementation and deployment of professional services and builds a pipeline of opportunities. Represent or replace duties of supervisor during vacation, travel or as required.
Travel Requirements
Travel requirements – up to 50% or as required for business purposes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Professional Services
- Develop and maintain delivery of professional services
- Provides professional services related to the Intellimine® product suite
- Provides system assessment, engineering analysis, performance analysis, and benchmarking services
- Provides change management services for new system deployments
- Provides training to new team members
- Studies and applies “Lean” and Continuous Improvement concepts to customer operations
- Utilizes other corporate Customer Success resources, when necessary, to meet client requirements
- Solicits client feedback to improve service
- Develops and implements measures to reduce cost per ton
Analytics
- Gathers and analyses information skillfully
- Develops alternative solutions
- Works well in group problem solving situations
- Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics
- Performs analysis to develop pragmatic/practical solutions that address clients’ business needs

Technical Support & Service

Project Management
- Proactively facilitate activities in support to consulting services
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises professional ethics in all interventions

- Organizes and plans the work schedules and discuss in advance with the client to obtain feedback

- Anticipates and overcomes obstacles
- Manages and acquires necessary human resources to perform the project
- Escalates roadblocks with potential solutions when a resolution can not be found
Sales - Account Management
- Uncover and address customer needs
- Assists with development of customer success of stories or Value in Use documents for marketing and sales
- Assists Sales team for sales of professional services
- Maintains existing accounts in collaboration with the sales team (account plans, route maps, etc.)
- Coordinates with internal Modular resources to solve problems
- Writes proposals
- Presents solutions/options
- Communicates the value proposition
- Writes high quality orders for “add-on” sales business acumen understands business implications of decisions
- Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with Mining, Civil, Geological, or Industrial specialization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years of experience in the Mining industry or consultancy work experience in middle management positions pertaining to mine planning, mine operations or mine technology, or in a Komatsu role of Consulting, Customer Service or Performance Assurance
- 10+ years of experience in Technology Development, Deployment and Services experience
- Team leadership experience in a mining environment
- Ability to identify key stakeholders & form strong relationships
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
- Customer focused, commitment to excellence
- Results driven
- Must be able to communicate fluently with clients
- Must be able to influence others when required
Desired Skills
- MBA or Mine Engineering Master's Program
- Project Management Certification
- Black Belt Six Sigma or Lean certification
