Our cutting-edge Modular brand solutions are powering mines worldwide, driving efficiency and sustainability in ways that seemed impossible just years ago.
Job Overview
As a Mechatronics Engineer I, you will support the design, development, and integration of electromechanical subsystems used in ruggedized hardware platforms for advanced mining technology solutions. You will work closely with experienced engineers to contribute to early design activities, hands-on development, integration, and testing that help ensure quality and reliability are built into solutions from the start.
This role offers the opportunity to learn how electromechanical systems are designed and brought together in real-world mining environments while developing core engineering skills in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team. If you enjoy hands-on problem solving, learning from experienced engineers, and contributing to practical designs, this role provides a strong foundation for growth within product development.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Assists with the integration of mechanical, electrical, and firmware components into electromechanical subsystems.
- Applies engineering fundamentals to support prototype builds, early testing, and validation activities.
- Supports early identification and resolution of integration, fit, and functional issues during design and development.
- Assists with the creation and maintenance of engineering documentation, drawings, and test records.
- Collaborates with engineers across disciplines to support system integration and iterative improvement.
- Applies structured problem-solving methods to analyze issues and recommend corrective actions
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field with 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience or
- Associate degree in a closely related technical field with 4–8 years of directly applicable hands-on electromechanical engineering experience.
- Foundational understanding of mechanical, electrical, and embedded hardware concepts.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional engineering environment and learn new tools and technologies.
- Up to ~10% travel, including laboratory work, prototype builds, integration activities, or limited field exposure.
Desired Skills
- Exposure to electromechanical system integration or prototype development.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, or embedded hardware components.
- Basic experience with CAD tools, schematics, or wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with testing, troubleshooting, or laboratory equipment.
- Interest in full product lifecycle development and building quality into designs early.
