Job Purpose

Modular's Regional Technical Services (NA) is ultimately responsible for the regional outcomes of  software support, hardware support, training, and project delivery. As part of the RTS supervisory group, you will support technical requirements needs and provide supervision over key areas across the NA region. This will include working and assisting field technicians, field supervisors, the RMA department, and the sales team.

You will work closely with other RTS and global support team members to help drive a cohesive and best in class customer support experience. You will be required to simultaneously strive to deliver excellent customer service while ensuring the team is running efficiently and contributing towards our business plan goals including profitability. You will also be required to be a very strong safety advocate.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills.  As the Technical Supervisor, Hardware you’ll be responsible for:

  • Provide supervision over hardware support activities  
  • Provide supervision over the NA RMA department and assist with repairs as needed
  • Provide quote support to sales team for all core product sales, support, and ad hoc requests
  • Serve as regional hardware support specialist for core product line 
  • Serve as primary resource for all core product related hardware support tickets within the region
  • Serve as regional HSE admin over 3rd party vendor management systems Provide onsite field support as required across the NA region (limited)
  • Collaborate with deployment peer group to deliver an optimal and aligned service and customer experience

Required Skills

  • Associate’s degree in related technical trade, or 5 years of technical services equivalent experience
  • 3 years of experience in the mining industry or directly supporting the mining industry 
  • Demonstrated focus of supporting a strong safety culture
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a dynamic, distributed team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft core product skills (Excel, Word, PP)
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (US, CAN, MEX, and Colombia)

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Core Modular and Argus/Pegasys product’s hardware platforms
  • Experience as an instrumentation and/or electrical technician 
  • Experience with traditional mesh and other mining communication networks
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience with HSE direct management or admin responsibilities
  • Experience with CRM & service ticket tools (Sales Force, Zendesk, etc)
  • 3 years of direct supervisory or management experience
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering
