Sr Officer / Asst Manager- Logistics & Inventory

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Logistics and Inventory function with an exposure to have working in SAP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.
  • Regarding Transportation and Shipping ensures that all activities are being performed according to approved plans and are in line with procedures and instructions for the right materials to arrive at the right destination at the right time including the accompanying documents.
  • With regard to Feedstock, Trade Materials and Tolling (as applicable) ensures that all activities are being performed according to approved plans and are in line with procedures and instructions for demand to be covered by adequate supply.
  • Determines and coordinates appropriate shipping mode to avoid any production loss, breakdown and stoppage.
  • Ensures that packaging, labelling and documentation meet all (legal) requirements for the respective country supplied to and from.
  • Works with production and carriers to reduce transport damage to a minimum.
  • Directs and coordinates the activities with the respective team in relation to transportation operations including dispatching, routing, and tracking shipments etc.
  • Coordinates with the overseas suppliers for timely movement of the materials.
  • Develop sourcing strategy and managing the regional logistics service providers (LSP) and services. Monitor KPI of the LSP in a regular basis and find out solutions to improve their performance.
  • Customer complaints addressed to Transportation & Shipping and directs investigations to verify and resolve internal and external customers complaints.
  • Having knowledge to deal with Customs officials, DGFT, BIS and other authority to perform EXIM activities.
  • Exposure to have in Checklist approval, BOE filing, SIMS & NFMIS filing in correct tariff and as per compliance requirement.
  • Ensure marine and transit insurance of all the shipments and movements.
  • Assists in developing alternative resources for warehousing, logistics routes and services.
  • Coordinate with the Forwarders, CHA, and inland transporter for timely movements and to avoid any issues in-transit.
  • Warehouse activities and inventory keeping and storage functions maintaining through SAP.
  • Responsible for investigating stock discrepancies, including negatives, unfound and sold out, and reporting the information to relevant team including the accounts.
  • Periodic Inventory Audits at the multiple sites and plants, reconciliation and reporting it.
  • Ensuring the health, safety, cleanliness, and security of the work environment.
  • Collaboration and coordination with the multiple internal and external customers and departments and maintain a swift relationship to achieve Organization goals.
  • Need to have efficient and effective communication skill.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree in logistics management/ business administration/ Commerce.

5 - 8 years of experience in- Logistics operations/ inventory control/ vendir coordination/ warehouse management

Technical skills- SAP ERP.

Good workimg knowledge of- Microsoft Excel, Inventory planning and stock control, material movement and dispatch planning

  3. Choosing, Interacting, and executing jobs through CHA for import / export / port handling activities …. applicable both for airport and seaport.
  4. Dealing with port and customs authorities; including knowing rules, regulations, acts, etc (expert).
  5. Understanding and using duty structure. customs, GST etc
  6. Transportation arranging, handling for incoming and outgoing freights – from pick up / delivery points, from ports / shipyards etc.
  7. Warehousing for Raw material, FG etc. with overall focus on space with max utilization for optimized spent.
  8. All kind of logistics – rail, road, ship, and air
  9. Strong knowledge in SAP platform.
  10. Dealing with the multiple Government authorities officials at all related regulatory bodies.
  11. Vendor finalisation and negotiations.
