Job Overview

The Senior Maintenance Manager leads and optimizes all maintenance and reliability activities at the South Harbor Manufacturing Operations site to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective production. This role is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, improving asset reliability, and advancing operational excellence through proactive maintenance strategies, strong workforce leadership, and continuous improvement. The position plays a critical role in supporting production throughput, safety performance, and long-term asset health across the facility.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and direct the maintenance organization to ensure safe execution of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities 
  • Establish and execute maintenance and reliability strategies to improve equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life 
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and EHS teams to support production goals, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, including labor, materials, spare parts, and contracted services, to meet cost and performance targets 
  • Implement standardized maintenance processes, work management systems, and reliability best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting a strong safety culture 
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate maintenance leaders and skilled trades to build technical capability, engagement, and succession readiness 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed
  • Work environment consistent with a typical office and manufacturing setting
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequent movement throughout the facility to attend meetings, access work areas, and interact with employees

Qualifications/Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8–10 years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience leading supervisors and skilled trades teams

Preferred:

  • Experience with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and preventive/predictive maintenance programs
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance performance metrics
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
  • Financial acumen with experience managing maintenance budgets and cost controls
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CMRP) are a plus
