Job Overview
As a Rental Coordinator at Komatsu, you will play a crucial role in executing the entire rental order process. You will be responsible for the generation, fulfillment, maintenance, and return of rental orders across multiple branches, contributing directly to the company’s success and customer satisfaction. In this role, you'll work closely with various teams, including sales/rental management, transportation services, and service branch managers, ensuring that all processes operate smoothly and efficiently. Key Job Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist both phone and walk-in customers with professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a seamless experience while generating rental orders.
- Supervise and support yard coordinators in all rental-related tasks, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Evaluate compliance regularly and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Generate and manage rental contracts meticulously, validating customer information such as account status, insurance coverage, and creditworthiness. Adjust contracts as needed based on evolving circumstances, ensuring timely invoicing.
- Efficiently process equipment requests, aligning inventory availability with customer demands through prioritization and effective communication.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate inventory records, proactively notifying the Rental Operations Supervisor of discrepancies and performing routine cycle counts to ensure integrity.
- Monitor and recover expenses related to damage repairs, fuel, and freight, striving to exceed company targets.
- Coordinate with the service department and General Manager on equipment maintenance needs to optimize fleet availability and performance.
- Manage equipment transportation effectively, collaborating with internal and external parties to uphold delivery commitments.
- Assess and recommend optimal inventory levels tailored to meet local demand, working closely with management to address potential gaps.
- Support the Credit Department with the collection of rental-related receivables and Certificates of Insurance, fostering positive relationships with clients.
Qualifications/Requirements
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; some college education or technical training in a related field is preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos to effectively fulfill job responsibilities.
- Competent writing skills for drafting clear and concise correspondence.
- Exemplary verbal communication skills to present information efficiently in both one-on-one and small group settings.
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as calculate figures related to physical dimensions such as area, volume, and circumference.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities to address challenges involving various concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Flexibility to work various schedules, including shifts, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the rental team.

Hiring Range
