Job Overview

This isn’t your average QA gig. If you’d rather crawl inside a machine in the field than sit behind a desk, we’ve got the role for you. In this role, you’ll be inspecting, auditing, and signing off on rebuilds that power the mining industry. You’ll get your hands dirty, climb all over our machines, and make sure every weld and spec meets the mark. If this sounds like your kind of role- we want to hear from you!

 

Reports to: General Supervisor, Quality Assurance
Shift: 7x7- rotation of days and nights
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: this role will travel up to 25% within Canada and the USA and will be 75% on site field work in the Sparwood area

 This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and NDT inspections (UT, LP, MP) on rebuild components
  • Audit machine overhauls and ensures final QC documentation is complete
  • Lead inspections, signoffs, and reporting for major rebuilds
  • Coordinate quality documentation and maintain compliance with QA standards
  • Suggest and support process improvements
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with third-party inspectors
  • Provide QC updates at production meetings and ensure consistency across projects

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience supervising welding/fitting operations; Journeyperson Welder Ticket is a plus
  • NDT Level II, CWB Level I and MT II CGSB certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Solid understanding of CWB requirements and engineering specs
  • Detail-oriented with strong reporting and documentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Strong communicator and proactive problem solver
  • Valid driver’s license and able to access any mine site
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
