Flexible Machine Cell Operator

Job Overview

Sets up and operates a variety of machines within the department according to routing instructions and part drawing.  Machining duties done in cell environment where machine tools are grouped to optimize productivity.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Lifting equipment, hand tools, measuring equipment, variety of machine tools & cutters, etc.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Check dispatch list and follow top job on list.
  • Check router, verify revisions on all part drawings and CNC programs.
  • Set up the machines per the set-up sheet (plus testers).
  • Load the part on the machines, Remove the part from the machines, Make out a move ticket to send the part to the next operation. Move parts as necessary.
  • Run the part to the part drawings specifications. Edit speeds and feeds as needed, and program as needed.
  • Set all necessary gages and inspect and ensure parts are to print. Document as required.
  • Obeys all safety rules, wears proper PPE, and performs housekeeping functions.
  • Assist engineers and supervision to make improvements to parts, methods, fixturing and work place organization for continuous improvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Previous machining experience required 
  • Ability to perform own set-ups
