Job Overview
Key Job Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical repair, inspection, disassembly, assembly, and rebuild work on heavy equipment components in the Shop
- Work on mechanical portions of components related to electric drive haul trucks and electric shovels.
- Support shop repair and remanufacturing work as assigned. Inspect components for wear, damage, or required repairs.
- Use mechanical aptitude and shop experience to troubleshoot and complete assigned work.
- Follow safety, quality, and shop procedures.
- Work collaboratively with shop leadership and team members to complete jobs efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Ability to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs.
- Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
- Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years related experience and/or training in the mining or construction equipment industry
- Able to work 4 10-hour days onsite
