Job Overview

The Plant Controller is responsible for reporting TimberPro’s financial statements in accordance with both US GAAP and Komatsu reporting standards. They will ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the general ledger and reported timely. Plant Controller will ensure compliance with local and corporate policies and procedures through designing and managing internal controls with an emphasis on safeguarding of assets and cash flow management. The Plant Controller will be a key member of the local management team working to drive financial profitability, efficiency, and integrity.

Key Job Responsibilities

Manage the monthly financial close process and reporting requirements
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and ad hoc financial analysis
Assist in developing annual budget and quarter forecasts
Take initiative leading and designing continuous business process improvements
Assist North America Forest Division Controller with ad hoc reporting, capital expenditures and change management on behalf of the forestry division

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance is required. Professional certification such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
5+ years in manufacturing accounting is strongly preferred
Managerial experience with at least 2 years preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite of software packages (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.)
Experience working with Syteline CloudSuite, or middle market ERP software packages is a plus
Knowledge of cost accounting, inventory and fixed asset management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and tax
Strong leadership skills demonstrated through effective verbal and written communications
Focus on problem solving and identify counter measures to root causes
Experience with financial close processes and account reconciliations
Demonstrate customer focus, with the ability to build effective working relationships with management and employees across multiple businesses and geographies
Have a growth mindset and innovative ideas
Physically located onsite at TimberPro to best support the daily operations and must have the ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
Travel requirements: Up to 25%
