This is an opportunity for an experienced platform technical engineer/architect to join a growing implementation, building towards a world-class platform as the foundation to modernize and transform the way work is done for a global organization.  The ServiceNow Platform Architect is a technical leader who documents the overall platform design and helps to analyze the impact of new requirements. The Platform Architect defines and communicates, at an architectural and design level, technical solutions aligned with business problems and systems architecture. The role also provides direction on keeping work aligned to ServiceNow implementation best practices and gives hands-on assistance with the detailed design and implementation phases of engagements through recommendations, points of view and documentation on a multi-application environment (CSM/CRM, ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, SPM, App Engine/Creator Workflows). 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Platform Solutioning: Design, architect, and implement scalable, robust, and secure solutions on the ServiceNow platform to meet the organization's business requirements. Owns architectural runway. 
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with partners to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and translate them into technical solutions leveraging the capabilities of the ServiceNow platform. May perform proof of concept/value initiatives and ensure essential documentation is completed. 
  • Integration: Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability. 
  • Citizen Development: When existing capabilities are not offered in the platform, provide guidance to no and low-code solutions such as scoped applications utilizing App Engine Studio and exposed platform capabilities & data. 
  • Technical Leadership: Trusted advisor who provides technical guidance, governance and leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, coding guidelines, and best practices. Adheres to out of the box and avoids technical debt through customizations.  Ensures implementation partners adhere to Komatsu and ServiceNow standards. 
  • Performance Optimization: Execution on performance optimization, scalability improvements, and enhancement of the overall user experience on the ServiceNow platform. 
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in all aspects of ServiceNow platform implementation and usage. 
  • Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and user guides. Conduct training sessions for partners and end-users as needed. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends, features, and capabilities of the ServiceNow platform. Proactively seek out areas for process improvement and innovation. 
  • Oversees, specializes in and provides advice in one or more ITIL practices. (ITSM, ITOM, ITBM/SPM,…) 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an established ServiceNow senior developer or architect. 
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the ServiceNow platform, including ServiceNow Core, IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and connected workflows. 
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and development methodologies. Leverages ATF and defines standards for peer/code reviews. 
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Glidescript, XML, HTML, CSS, and other relevant technologies used in ServiceNow development. 
  • Experience with ServiceNow integration technologies such as REST API, SOAP, MID Server, JDBC, Integration Hub spokes, and Plug-ins/Store apps. 
  • Experience focused mindset; we are primarily leveraging workspaces and not classic UI; familiarity with ServiceNow Horizon for good UX/UI design. 
  • Active ServiceNow certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) and Certificated Application Developer (CAD) are required. Priority is given to those who possess CTA or CMA certifications.

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $100,000-$130,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
