Job Overview
Attachment Account Managers own accountability for customer relationships, providing tactical leadership and management for all aspects of parts, components and services delivered to distributors and major accounts. Account managers also provide liaison to product support and factory engineering to ensure faultless communication of user issues. This role will participate with input to total life cycle improvement and recognize opportunities for process improvement to ensure an integrated delivery system that meets customer requirements, minimizing downtime while maximizing the customer experience. This role recognizes that responsiveness to customer needs is imperative to success. This role will be responsible for developing and growing Sales and Field Service business in the US market.
Key Job Responsibilities
- To be key contact person for assigned dealer and customer accounts in relation to all matters such as products, parts and parts planning, availability issues, invoicing, meetings and contract matters.
- To maintain a trusting business relationship and to provide key liaison role between the dealer, customer and factories.
- Ensure dealer and external customer expectations are met (i.e. parts, equipment availability, etc.).
- Develop contingency plans for addressing critical shortages quickly and cost effectively.
- Accountability for all operational processes related to role and delivering performance on budget.
- Represent the corporate view in supporting and enabling the consistent application of all processes, policies and guidelines.
- Support the Attachments management team to ensure that a collaborative environment flourishes, that integrates sales, service, parts and support groups in reaching organizational goals.
- Offer technical assistance and deliver the dealer’s and customer’s requirement of technical assistance to appropriate service representatives at factories in an effort to accommodate the customer’s needs.
- Gather and present information to the dealer and customer.
- To assist and provide support for the dealer’s and customer’s attachment projects.
- To develop and maintain key metrics and practices to identify opportunities for the d e al er and customer.
- Negotiate and administer contracts with dealer partners.
- Work with internal departments/personnel and the de al er’ s/ customer’s maintenance planners to manage parts planning function for the customer.
- Ensure parts are available and delivered on time for the dealer/customer as required for planned and unplanned outages.
- Facilitate on site parts planning and review planning of forecasted benchmark components.
- Review and submit Warranty Claims on the dealer’s behalf, coordinating with factory technicians and Product Support Managers.
- Provide quotations for products, contract or parts supply when required.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- General Heavy Equipment and attachment specific knowledge, with basic mechanics, hydraulics and electric knowledge
- 5 + years of parts and/or operations experience in a leadership role, with continuously expanding professional experience
- Proven and demonstrated ability to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Proven and demonstrated leadership skills with a strong ability to communicate at multiple levels
- Strategic thinker - strong ability to see opportunities and ability to convert into added value proposal for our clients
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills with ability to connect with a variety of stakeholders at multiple levels
- Verbally presents messages in a clear, concise manner
- SAP and solid MS office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Percentage of Travel: 90%
Reasons for Travel: Distributor, Customer and employee contacts, Attend Trade shows, association meetings, distributor and customer event
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $NA. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
