Job Overview
Komatsu is hiring a Shop Technician to support our remanufacturing operation in Salt Lake City. This role focuses primarily on wheel motor and electric drive truck (EDT) components for large electric drive mining trucks (730–930).

What You’ll Do
- Repair and rebuild wheel motors and EDT components
- Work with hydraulic wet brake systems, drivetrains, and electrical components
- Perform inspections related to bearings, gears, seals, and cracks
- Use tools like die penetrant inspections as part of quality checks
- Operate large‑capacity forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided if needed)
- Participate in the daily 6:00 am safety meeting and lineouts
- This role involves repetitive, detail‑focused work on the same components—ideal for someone who enjoys consistency and precision.
Schedule & Environment

Schedule: This position is currently scheduled on a 4/10 work schedule. Based on business needs and customer demand, the schedule may be adjusted to a Monday–Friday schedule, including up to 50 hours per week.
- Overtime: Available depending on workload and mine demand

Key Job Responsibilities

- Complete all assigned repair and maintenance tasks efficiently
- Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines, fostering a safe workplace for all.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic system issues, applying systematic failure analysis techniques.
- Conduct thorough testing and verification of all repairs and adjustments to ensure operational reliability and compliance with quality standards
Qualifications/Requirements
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- 1–5 years of experience as a shop or field technician (mining, heavy equipment, or similar)
- Past experience with wheel motor, electrical, and/or drive train repair on electric drive mining trucks
- Comfort working in a structured, repetitive role
- Willingness to work early morning shift
- Safety‑minded approach to work
