The opportunity
Komatsu Underground has a career defining Team Leader (Workshop Supervisor) position for our Fabrication department in Rutherford.
In this role, you’ll manage workshop responsibilities and requirements to complete OE and rebuilds of Komatsu (Joy) underground mining equipment.
You’ll have demonstrated the ability to manage teams across multiple projects, with equipment being completed according to customers’ specifications.
This role works hand in hand with the project management, engineering and planning teams to ensure our world class mining gear is delivered to the highest quality, on time.

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, duties will include
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Manage the daily operations of the Fabrication section within the Workshop.
• Manage resource utilisation to achieve successful project/job outcomes.
• Implement, monitor and review systems, policies and procedures.
• Encourage a flexible workforce and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Liaise with employees and management to develop relationships that are conducive to the successful completion of projects.
• Good knowledge and understanding of AS3000 standard.
• Ensure quality systems and workmanship are adhered to.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of our zero-harm culture.
Your skills & attributes
• Trade certificate qualification.
• Solid experience in a team supervisory/ frontline leadership role.
• Considerable post-trade experience in relevant industry or trade role.
• Good knowledge and understanding of underground mining equipment an advantage
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• WHS and First Aid Certificates desirable.
• Computer literacy with experience using SAP and Gantt charts highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience managing resource utilisation.
• Commitment to driving a safety culture.
• Flexibility to supervise extended shift and weekend work patterns when required.
