Job Overview

This is a true enterprise EHS leadership role within Komatsu, offering the opportunity to influence beyond site-level operations and shape strategy, culture, and performance at scale.

You will partner with ELT and global EHS leadership to own and deliver the end-to-end EHS strategy, translating enterprise priorities into practical, embedded programs across a complex, multi-site business.

You will drive measurable performance outcomes and cultural transformation, build leadership capability and embedding an interdependent safety culture—while bridging global frameworks with local execution across manufacturing, mining, and field environments.

Why this is your next career move.

Enterprise-level influence (not just site leadership).

High visibility role, partnering with ELT and global Komatsu EHS leadership to shape direction and decisions.

Strategy ownership – not support.

Own the end-to-end EHS strategy, directly shaping business outcomes and translating enterprise priorities into practical, embedded programs across a multi-site operation.

Lead cultural transformation

Lead a step-change toward an interdependent safety culture by building leadership capability for authentic safety conversations and delivering behavioural safety initiatives with measurable, sustained outcomes.

Balance global and local impact

Partner with global EHS leadership to translate enterprise frameworks into practical, locally embedded initiatives—acting as the critical link between global expectations and operational reality in a complex Australian business.

Real accountability & measurable outcomes

Own EHS performance end-to-end—driving data-led decision making, delivering visible safety outcomes, and holding leaders accountable for results, not just compliance.

Leadership scope and business integration

Lead and develop EHS Managers while influencing operational and executive leaders to embed safety into business performance across manufacturing, mining, and field environments.

Critical skills required for success.

Executive-level influence: you can confidently report to senior leaders, present clearly, and drive decisions—while remaining credible with frontline leaders and teams.

Strategic depth: you can evidence how you have developed and delivered EHS strategy and initiatives end-to-end.

Culture transformation capability: you can build leader capability for authentic safety conversations and progress the organisation toward an interdependent safety culture.

Commercial and business acumen: you understand business drivers and can translate culture and operational insight into practical programs that stick.

About you.

You are a proven senior EHS leader who brings:

  • Extensive experience in manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry environments
  • A track record of executive engagement and influence
  • Proven success in behavioural safety and culture transformation
  • Strong working knowledge of EHS legislation, standards, and systems
  • The ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels

This is a challenging and highly rewarding career move that provides opportunities only a leading global OEM can offer. The position is based in Komatsu Mining's Rutheford, NSW head office and offers a competitive salary and bonus structure. This is an exciting time for an experienced National EHS Manager to join Komatsu, making their mark on the Australian underground mining business and effecting real change.
