Komatsu is seeking an experienced National Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across our Australian operations. Working in close partnership with the Global EHS team, this role will play a critical part in embedding a strong, consistent, and proactive safety culture across the business.
Reporting to the Director – Operations, this senior leadership position is responsible for developing and deploying Komatsu’s national EHS strategy, ensuring legislative compliance, mitigating organisational risk, and driving continuous improvement across multi-site operations.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the national EHS strategy across complex, multi-site operations
- Build, mentor and develop a high-performing national EHS team
- Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental legislation across all Australian jurisdictions
- Partner with senior leaders to embed a proactive, values-driven safety culture
- Provide EHS governance, risk management, and performance oversight
- Lead incident management, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the Global EHS team to align local and global safety initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
- Extensive EHS leadership experience within industrial, mining, or heavy industry environments
- Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS and environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to influence at executive level and drive national consistency
- Demonstrated experience leading cultural change and safety transformation
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Management, or similar
