Job Overview

We are currently looking to recruit Mechanical Fitters to join our Underground Mining Workshop at Rutherford. Reporting to the Leading Hands, duties will include the Overhauls and Rebuilds on a range of Underground Mining equipment made by Komatsu Mining (Formerly Joy Global). Including Development Miners and Shuttle Cars, Longwall Coal Clearance Systems, Powered Roof Supports. Also available are positions to work in the Hydraulics Cell working specifically on Komatsu Underground Cylinders and valving.

Key Job Responsibilities

Carry out repairs, maintenance and build of mining machinery with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications/Requirements

Trade qualification in mechanical fitting
Understanding of Underground Mining Equipment
Ability to fault find and inspect equipment.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics
Strong time management skills
Proven decision-making skills
Ability to work autonomously
Ability to complete reports and use computers.
Dogging, EWP and Forklift tickets would be considered highly desirable
