So, what will I be doing?
In this role, you will be integral to the full electrical fitting process for underground mining machinery, handling all stages from dismantling and assembly to fabrication, wiring, installation, testing, and precise fault diagnosis.
Your responsibilities will include fabricating electrical panels and cabinets compliant with AS3800 standards, interpreting complex electrical drawings and schematics, and skillfully wiring ELV control circuits along with some HV power wiring tasks.
You will manage the connection of AC/DC motors and essential electrical components, overhaul mining equipment with a focus on electrical assessments and repairs, support motor and contactor rebuild projects, and conduct thorough testing with equipment such as meggers, multimeters, and current clamp meters.
Upon completion of machinery assembly, you will carry out comprehensive testing of ELV, LV, AC, DC, and three-phase circuits, accurately diagnose faults, verify compliance with safety and quality standards, and ensure equipment readiness for commissioning.

What do I need to have?
- Electrical trade certificate qualification.
- Good knowledge of AS3000 standards; AS3800 exposure desirable.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, schedules and manuals.
- Experience testing, fault finding and repairing ELV, LV, AC, DC and three-phase circuits.
- Forklift ticket desirable.
- Strong safety focus and commitment to a zero-harm culture.
- Confident using hand tools and workshop equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with customers, site teams, supervisors and colleagues.
