Job Overview

Provides the resource to Supervise and execute strategies for the demand planning and forecasting system. Understands thoroughly the parts planning systems (Servigistics) architecture, its features and capabilities, as well as all parameter setting options. Executes system data quality tests, supports planners to ensure issues are investigated and followed up on. Responsible for annual inventory planning, tracking and reporting.  

 

Scope

 

  • Responsible for maintaining the planning system that supports all Komatsu parts businesses including Peoria and Ripley operations, totaling $1B in annual purchases. 
  • Executes system settings changes that support annual inventory targets around $400m. 
  • Ensures system executes properly to support fill rate targets such as Construction parts at 95% and Mining Parts 93% off the shelf availability. 
  • Supervises one analyst that executes system testing and parameter settings including inventory and availability plans. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains and develops $400m inventory plan annually, reports and updates management team monthly. 
  • Supervises the execution of parameter changes, simulations, report generation.
  • Support planners with issues and system behavior abnormalities. 
  • Conducts analysis to improve availability, forecasting and inventory performance.
  • Supports development of training for planners to ensure knowledge of systems settings and outputs.  

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Materials, Statistics, Business Administration, or Operations – MBA and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Parts Operations, Manufacturing, Distribution, or Materials Management.
  • Experience planning, forecasting and ordering goods from suppliers. 
  • technical analysis and data manipulation skills.
  • Professional PC skills with extensive knowledge of Excel, strong skills using database systems and creating complex queries in Access and SQL.
  • Professional written and oral communication skills appropriate to all levels of the organization. Must be able to communicate detailed analysis at the managment level.  
  • Strong sense of urgency and delivers on time.
