Job Overview
Supports the effective collaboration process between Komatsu America Corp (KAC) parts operations and US/Canadian distributors regarding inventory strategies, stocking policies and supply chain alignment for KAC depot locations. Utilizes distributor retail data, machine population data, technical knowledge, field and market intelligence and Distributor collaboration and forecasting to make informed parts stocking decisions including new product introduction (NPI) and machines with increasing population to provide distributors with additional support through the KAC depot network. Works extensively with internal Komatsu customers to ensure depot stocking strategy aligns with KAC and global Komatsu parts objectives.
Scope
Manages inventory collaboration within eight regional depots and global distribution network (US – 33 distributors, 266 branch locations; CA – 5 distributors, 54 locations) considering inventory levels at the MPDC as well. Total inventory value responsibility is $42M. Responsible for depot ASL development process that determines strategic location of stock and corresponding stocking levels to be the next layer of customer support for US and Canadian Distributors.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Distributors and Sales to incorporate forecasts, field knowledge and specific customer requirements as a factor when establishing parts support in the KAC depots through depot Authorized Stocking Lists (ASL).
- Utilize EQP data to monitor machine population and service meter readings (SMR) to provide parts support within KAC depot locations through depot ASLs.
- Work closely with material planners to ensure parts availability within the depot network.
- Establish, maintain, analyze and distribute key performance metrics for depot performance and inventory to measure results and maintain the process.
- Tactically manage and execute stocking decisions at the depot locations within Servigistics.
- Communicate depot strategy and inventory results to executive level management at distributors and within KAC.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, Operations or equivalent work experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of Materials Management processes including forecasting, inventory planning and distribution
- Professional PC skills and systems knowledge including Excel, Access, Power Point, and Word. Prior experience with databases and the ability to quickly and accurately pull and aggregate large amounts of data. Knowledge of or the ability to learn PIPS (parts system), EQP and Servigistics.

Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The starting rate for this role is 66,600. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
