Job Overview

The Strategic Pricing Analyst, Parts is responsible for running and supporting financial impact analysis, having very good business knowledge and acumen, very good pricing acumen and excellent problem-solving skills. Must be able to work independently and within teams and must have good to excellent communication skills. 

This position reports to the Manager, Pricing and Programs. The daily responsibilities will focus on analyzing and reviewing strategic initiatives, regional datasets, and departmental report generation and analysis.

Key Job Responsibilities

•    Assist in driving the pricing strategy and improvement initiatives, through in-depth qualitative/quantitative analysis
•    Lead activities related to achieving annual price realization and performance targets
•    Support the generation, review, maintenance, analysis and distribution of parts prices and pricing policies
•    Pursue enhancements working with regions, aftermarket parts product marketing and sales to maintain appropriate market and DNET pricing by product to influence market share growth, value pricing and value selling 
•    Support cross-functional teams driving process improvements 
•    Generate and maintain reporting dashboard to capture price performance, price leakage, and sales analysis 
•    Develop performance metrics and reports for executive management, product marketing, sales, commercial and pricing teams

•    Scope, Develop and Lead parts pricing analytic projects  
•    Integral participant with internal and external audit requests
•    Develop and lead analysis to deliver process enhancements for the Construction, Forest and Mining Support business
•    Manage and maintain established pricing reports to track and communicate performance 

•    Conduct on-going reviews and evaluation of the pricing process to identify improvements and areas for standardization and automation
•    Build pricing models for promotional strategies in support of targeted objectives 
•    Assist cross-functional teams with ad-hoc reporting and analysis
•    Develop audit routines to test price data within SPP, identify issues and draft recommendations to resolve
•    Support the review and approval of Customer Point of Sale parts rebates for National and Regional Account Customers. 
•    Monitor gross margin percentages by part number.  Investigate and resolve problem margins within SPP.
•    Maintain good communications between Marketing, Regions, Cost Accounting, Purchasing, Sales, Engineering, etc.; viewed as SME and trusted partner for all pricing topics 
•    Work with distributors and aftermarket product marketing recommending analytic and strategic solutions on New Product Introduction (NPI) and existing parts pricing
•    Partner with Tax and Finance to ensure corporate transfer price and exchange rate policies are applied correctly and consistently
•    Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

•    A bachelor's degree (Business, Economics, Statistics, Accounting and/or Finance); or similar relevant experience
•    At least three (3) years of business experience in a pricing function or similar experience preferred
•    The individual must possess exceptional interpersonal skills
•    Ability to work across department lines to influence and get results
•    Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office. Previous experience with analytical software beneficial
•    Intermediate Excel skills, display ability to learn software  
•    The individual must possess solid analytical and critical thinking skills, along with strong strategic, pricing and business acumen
•    Detail-oriented and strong verbal/written communication skills
•    An understanding of the heavy equipment industry and competitive market pressures is an asset
•    Willingness to travel throughout the regions and feel comfortable interacting with regions and customers of different cultures
