Job Overview

 

Provides the resource to procure and expedite the delivery of parts to support expected demand and replenishment requirements to improve overall availability and minimize backorder status.  

Responsible for expediting non-stock and stock backorders as well as ensuring  adequate inventory levels to meet distributor requirements.  Accountability to identify supplier deficiencies and recommend actions for improvement to team management, including supplier leadtime inaccuracies and any other issues that may affect overall availability goals.  Responsible for achieving supplier performance metrics and making  fact-based decisions on supplier overtime as well as managing a proportional share of premium freight budget.  Additional responsibility to collaborate with planners to ensure pro-active  coverage of expected requirements including demand, kits, firm future orders.
 

Key Job Responsibilities

Qualifications/Requirements

 


•    Seasoned general business or industry experience.  High school diploma required.  College degree a plus.
•    Extreme sense of urgency and outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.
•    Personally accountable and welcomes responsibility.
•    Functional level skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
•    Ability to communicate orally effectively and professionally and in written form with suppliers and internal functions within KAC.
•    Prior experience with logistics data systems and the ability to quickly develop deep working knowledge of internal systems such as PIPS, PREPS, CSS and SAP as well as manufacturing computer systems such as Baan, PWINS, Inventory Planning System, etc.
•    General knowledge of manufacturing processes a plus.

Physical Requirements: This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, over 90% of the work period, to complete detailed work, typically using a PC.  The position occasionally requires working extended periods to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
