Job Overview
The Regional Parts Sales Manager (RPSM) is responsible for developing and executing regional parts sales and support strategies through Komatsu’s dealer and distributor network, with an initial focus on South Africa and the surrounding regions. This role is designed to support current business needs while maintaining flexibility to expand into additional territories as required by the evolving demands of Komatsu’s global aftermarket business. The RPSM exists to grow aftermarket revenue, improve parts market share, and ensure best-in-class support across Komatsu's surface mining portfolio. Serving as the primary link between regional distributors and Komatsu factories and Parts Distribution Centers (PDCs), the RPSM ensures alignment with Komatsu’s go-to-market strategy, focusing on distributor enablement and dealer-led customer support in alignment with Komatsu’s evolved dealer-focused operating model.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement parts sales and support strategies across assigned regions to increase Komatsu aftermarket market share and business performance
- Collaborate with dealers and internal stakeholders to identify market opportunities, establish sales targets, and execute territory business plans aligned with Komatsu’s strategic objectives
- Serve as the primary liaison between dealers and Komatsu functions (e.g., factories, supply chain, PDCs) to resolve delivery challenges, drive performance, and uphold world-class service standards
- Monitor and report on regional aftermarket KPIs and sales performance; analyze variances and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Support pricing strategy execution and develop competitive programs, including special quotations for major opportunities
- Lead regular distributor business reviews, Gemba visits, and Hansei sessions to promote continuous improvement and alignment
- Oversee regional training initiatives, product launches, and aftermarket campaigns to enhance dealer capability and customer value
- Manage regional inventory programs, consignment contracts, and audit compliance to ensure alignment with operational and financial standards
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in parts sales, marketing, or aftermarket support roles within heavy equipment or mining industries.
- Advanced knowledge of distribution models and regional business practices in assigned territories.
- Strong verbal and written communication, project management, and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, Salesforce, and the ability to learn Komatsu systems quickly.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%, including international travel across South Africa.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Komatsu mining products or equivalent surface mining equipment
- Prior experience supporting a dealer-based sales network
- Advanced data analytics or forecasting experience in aftermarket sales
- Multi-lingual capabilities (regional languages)
- Exposure to consignment inventory models and pricing governance
