Job Overview
Immediate opportunity available for a full-time, highly motivated, self-directed Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician - Senior.
Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
We are looking for someone to service Northeast Washington and Northern Idaho.
Candidate must be willing to train in Portland, Oregon over the course of six months while training.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Candidate must possess a strong commitment to safety of self and others.
- Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps and failure analysis.
- Determine corrective action through the inspection of failed parts.
- Determine reuse or replacement of parts through visual inspection and measurement.
- Repairs or replaces machine components.
- Installs components and parts in machinery.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts/operates machinery to test performance.
- Perform work in a variety of environments including the field, customer job sites, and the shop.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Complete service reports and timecards timely and accurately.
- Maintain company, vendor and product confidentiality.
General Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Must demonstrate troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Respond to all customer requests courteously, professionally and in a timely manner.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, climbing ladders and stairs, reaching, pulling, leaning, and twisting.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Must be able to work well independently or with others in a team environment.
- Must be able to work well under pressure, within deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Must be reliable, honest and have a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Candidate must be willing to learn new tasks and have pride in the quality of their work.
- Routine overtime is involved.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Preferred 2 or 4 year technical degree as it relates to the heavy equipment industry.
- Must be willing to travel, work outside in adverse weather conditions and be comfortable with heights.
- Must have or must be able to obtain a Class B CDL.
- Must be experienced or be able to learn to accurately complete DOT log books and maintaining compliance with DOT hours of service.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics.
- Preferred experience working on mining, construction or forestry equipment.
- Prior dealership or OEM experience is beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years verifiable experience repairing heavy equipment in a field service truck. Experience with LeTourneau as the primary equipment line is preferred, all others may apply.
- Computer proficiency using Microsoft office products and electronic service information systems.
