Job Purpose

The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training that enables customers to effectively adopt and utilize Modular Mining solutions. This role plays a critical part in driving user competency, system adoption, and long-term customer success across mining operations.

You will work directly with customers in both virtual and on-site environments, translating complex system functionality into practical, role-based training that improves operational performance and safety.

The Team

The Training Services team is part of Komatsu’ broader Customer Success organization, focused on ensuring customers achieve measurable value from our technology. The team partners closely with Implementation, Account Management, and Performance teams to support successful system adoption across global mining operations.

Essential Job Duties

Each day will present you with new challenges and opportunities to test and grow your skills.  As a Training Specialist with Komatsu, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Deliver instructor-led and hands-on training for Modular Mining solutions in classroom, virtual, and field environments
  • Tailor training programs to site conditions, operational workflows, and learner experience levels
  • Assess learner competency using practical evaluations, system usage metrics, and structured assessments
  • Provide targeted coaching and follow-up training to address adoption gaps and improve user confidence
  • Produce clear post-training reports outlining outcomes, risks, and recommended next steps
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align training with broader customer success and performance goals
  • Maintain and improve training materials, leveraging feedback and evolving best practices
  • Support customers and internal stakeholders as a subject matter resource for system use and training needs

Required Skills

  • High school diploma required
  • Post-secondary education in mining, engineering, education, or a related field is an asset
  • 3+ years of experience with mining technologies, fleet management systems, or comparable industrial software
  • Experience delivering technical training in classroom, virtual, and/or field environments
  • Experience working in mining or industrial operations environments
  • Ability to translate technical systems into practical, user-focused training
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Power BI)
  • Experience using digital training tools, LMS platforms, or training analytics is an asset

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Modular Mining DISPATCH or similar systems
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design
  • Experience supporting technology adoption or customer success initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and user performance
  • Multilingual capabilities (asset for North American operations)

Work Model & Travel Conditions

  • Remote role with approximately 30% travel across North America
  • Travel includes mine sites with varying environmental conditions
  • Work hours may vary based on site schedules and customer needs
  • Occasional international travel may be required
  • Ability to work on mine sites, including walking, standing, and working outdoors
  • Prolonged periods of computer use and training delivery
