Job Overview
This position provides the Quality Assurance Manager and the Sr. Quality Assurance Engineers with data identifying emerging problems that are occurring at the customer mine sites. Along with the organized and documented data, a recommendation for further action and the recall of all necessary parts should be completed. Recommend, develop, organize, and obtain approval from the QA Manager for FC type - Field Campaigns, then present to Service Organization for implementation. Prepare and send failed parts to suppliers for analysis, then follow up with suppliers on weekly basis or more often until failure analysis and root cause is provided.
- This position is responsible for the investigation, analysis and plans to address the design, quality, performance and reliability issues for PMO manufactured products. This involves the reading and coding of 2000-3000 TSI, and 60 -80 ETSI annually.
- The annual recall and follow up of all required failed parts (300 to 500 pieces) from throughout the world.
- The development and presentation for approval of FC type Field Campaigns. (40 - 50 annually.)
- The shipment and follow up of failed parts (200 – 400 pieces per year) to the suppliers for failure analysis and root cause.
- The shipment and follow up of failed parts (25 – 50 pieces per year) to a third- party laboratory for failure analysis and root cause.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Review and analyze all TSI and ETSI submitted in Peoria manufactured machines. Organize the data and present a recommended plan of future action.
- As a result of reading the TSI / ETSI, issue the recall and follow up on the return of failed returned parts.
- Develop and present for approval FC type Field Campaigns.
- Shipment and follow up of failed parts to suppliers and obtain supplier response.
- Shipment and follow up of failed parts to 3rd party laboratory.
- Participate as an active member of the CEC Committee reviewing all engineering design releases. Recommend prioritization and production effectiveness of QA countermeasures approving scrap and rework of old parts of production and spare parts inventory.
- Develop QA orders on to the factory for campaign and modification parts with the appropriate approval level signature.
- Assist in the implementation of IS14000, ISO9000 and other industry standards within KMS as a team member. This includes but is not limited to being an internal auditor.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of a BS degree in Engineering (electrical and/or mechanical) Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and/or service is a positive attribute.
- Knowledge of construction and mining equipment, Komatsu products are preferred.
- Prefer some knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices and procedures and industry standards.
- Persuasive communication skills, as well as the ability to interface with all levels of employees.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills are a must.
- Strong analytical skills (economics and analysis).
- Strong organizational skills.
Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $76,100 - $95,100. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
