Job Overview
To develop and maintain suppliers for all production parts in accordance to quality, cost and delivery requirements and to ensure continuous improvement of QCD, while reducing purchased - part cost by
continually identifying and implementing cost reduction measures with suppliers and controlling inventory to meet current target levels - all the while adhering to the mandated goal to produce machines which meet
or exceed the requirements of the design specification.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Creates manual orders and/or review MRP generated orders (checking accuracy) promptly and ensure suppliers have acknowledged receipt of orders.
- Follow up on orders to ensure that the materials are shipped and delivered as promised to avoid expediting and any production downtime.
- Maintain records of all purchase order and associated documents for all processes and maintain knowledge on all open orders and its status and provide assistance to all purchasing staff and manage all calls for purchasing and delivery schedule.
- Coordinates and decides disposition of rejected parts in a prompt/cost effective manner to prevent production stoppages and workforce downtime.
- Assist the Accounting Dept. and Warehouse in resolving unpaid invoices due to pricing and/or receiving discrepancies.
- Notify Purchasing Supervisor / Purchasing Manager immediately upon notice of a potential parts issue that may impact the production line.
- Maintain the accuracy of all databases and spreadsheets.
- Attend production and material review meetings when required
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Associates degree in Business, Engineering or related field and 1-3 years’ materials experience or 4- years manufacturing experience working with materials (purchasing, planning, warehouse.
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must project a cooperative and positive attitude towards customers, employees and the Company.
- May sit for long periods of time. Some standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail is a must.
Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $49,100 - 61,400. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
