Job Overview

Komatsu’s Manufacturing Engineering Internship Program provides manufacturing and mechanical engineering students the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a highly structured learning environment. This 12-week program will offer interns: training, mentorship, and exposure to multiple areas within the manufacturing and engineering group. 

Key Job Responsibilities

  • As an intern, you will shadow and work with experienced engineers on real projects, gaining valuable work experience.
  • The Manufacturing Engineering Internship Program offers a variety of opportunities related to facility layout / renovations, interaction with multiple groups, including: Manufacturing Operations, Materials, Quality, etc., and involvement in key manufacturing engineering projects.   

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Actively enrolled in an Engineering Program (preferably Manufacturing or Mechanical) from a 4-year accredited college/university.  
  • Must be able to apply their academic background to real business world experiences.  
  • Strong mechanical reasoning skills
  • Previous welding experience preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience with work study programs, school or volunteer leadership roles, participated on teams or in clubs, professional organizations, etc. preferred.  
  • Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.
  • PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel (Pivot Tables), Power Point (slide presentations, AutoCAD and other summary and analysis tools. Must demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required.
  • Possible opportunity for continued part-time work throughout the school year (up to 1,040 hours per year).

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $18 - $24. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
