Job Overview
The Battery Systems Engineer will focus on advanced battery technologies for the next generation of zero emission mining equipment and infrastructure.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Experience with Battery Systems Integration
- Design and develop new battery systems and technologies.
- Conduct performance and safety tests on battery systems.
- Analyze and interpret test data, preparing technical reports and documentation.
- Work with manufacturing processes to ensure production efficiency and quality.
- Identify and solve technical issues related to battery performance and lifespan.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance to deliver optimized battery solutions.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in battery technology and integrate them into product designs when feasible.
- Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through design and process improvements.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Approximately 5 years of experience with industrial machinery, construction, or mining equipment
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- Experience in product design, knowledge of production process and best practices.
- Experience in cooling system design.
- Experience in design, development, testing, and integration of batteries and battery management systems into mobile applications.
- Experience with battery management system HIL testing.
- Experience in development of battery equivalent circuit, thermal and aging models using Matlab/Simulink.
- Experience with rectifiers, inverters, power control systems, and chargers.
Additional Information
Pay: $90,000 - $130,000
