Job Overview
Komatsu currently has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Operations team based in Rockhampton, QLD.
This role is responsible for leading projects and will provide supervision, coordination to a multidisciplinary team that includes project supervisors, engineering professionals and supports staff working on significant projects for our customers. Support and training will be provided by Senior Project Managers within the business.
The successful applicant will project manage the rebuild of Development equipment through the complete process of planning with the customer, assist execution of contract, development of schedule and timeline via inputs from Engineering/Supply/Operations, manage project from start to finish including teardown and commission testing, carry out post project critique and implement findings in preparation for the next rebuild.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Implement systems to ensure efficiency in areas such as project planning, scheduling, budgeting and execution.
- Manage all aspects of the project to ensure timely completion and delivery against stated objectives.
- Participate in safety and risk analysis & manufacturing reviews.
- Participate in post project reviews.
- Allocate, monitor and control financial resources.
- Administer executed contracts, variations and closures.
Qualifications / Experience
- A solid understanding of the principles underpinning project management.
- Formal Project Management certification from PMI or another recognized professional body, or willing to obtain or complete training.
- Experience in leading multi-disciplined and complex projects.
- Previous exposure to managing projects within the Mining or similar heavy industries.
- Experience in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering disciplines, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded or experience in either Mechanical or Electrical trade qualifications highly regarded.
- Experience in negotiations with a customer facing role.
