Here in our Parkhurst workshop, we engineer and build world-class underground mining machinery including Continuous Miners, Longwall Machines, Roof Supports and Shuttle Cars.
This is your opportunity to embark on a rewarding career as an Electronics Technician.
Apprenticeship overview:
- Undertake four years of nationally recognised training, completing your Certificate III in Electronics and Communication from Brisbane TAFE (Eagle Farm).
- A rotation plan allowing you to gain skills and experience across each specialist area of our workshop.
- Mentorship by expert tradespeople.
- Work in a highly equipped workshop with a diverse range of tools and equipment.
The hands-on skills and experience you’ll gain in your four-year apprenticeship with Komatsu
- Testing and diagnosing of electronic sub-assemblies.
- Fault finding on electronic assemblies.
- Repair of electronic assemblies down to component level.
- Assemble, test, and repair various cable types.
- Read schematics and detailed equipment drawings.
- Implement and follow comprehensive safety processes and quality control measures.
- Skills and competencies in business skills, public speaking and leadership.

- A great attitude.
- A willingness to learn and a strong attention to detail.
- An interest in the Komatsu Underground business and our awesome gear.
- A commitment to fulfilling and successfully passing all practical and theory-based study requirements of your Apprenticeship.
- Completion of Year 12 and a mathematical apptitude.
