Job Overview

 

We are currently seeking trade qualified Electricians to join our team at our Parkhurst (Rockhampton) facility. 

 

Playing an important role in the delivery of customer requirements, you will deliver highly reliable electrical equipment for Komatsu’s underground coal mining products. The primary responsibility of this role is to manufacture and overhaul electrical underground coal mining equipment, such as Continuous Miners, Shuttle Cars and Longwall Miners.

 

Key Job Responsibilities

 

  • Dismantle, assemble and fabricate general electrical components
  • Fix and secure electrical equipment in both manufacturing mining machinery and installation work in the workshops
  • Develop, connect and test ELV,LV & HV power and control circuits, diagnosing and rectifying faults
  • Read ,understand and follow electrical drawings, diagrams, schedules, schematics and manuals
  • Lay wiring and terminate accessories for ELV, LV & HV as per the relevant standards

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated commitment to Safety
  • Relevant electrical trade qualifications, Electrical Licence & current LVR/CPR
  • Experience with High Voltage switching highly desirable
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience in Switchboard manufacture, looming, control wiring
  • Previous experience in a Heavy Industrial environment highly desirable
  • Experience with Explosion Protection-Coal (EEHA) highly desirable
  • Infrastructure Maintenance experience highly desirable
  • Positive attitude with strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving capability
  • Understanding quality procedures with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good time management skills with demonstrated ability to work to tight time frames
  • Ability to work autonomously, unsupervised
