Overview.

Lead Safety. Lift Performance. Drive Culture.

At Komatsu, safety isn’t just a priority—it’s a value embedded in everything we do.

Our SLQDC framework (Safety, Legal Compliance, Quality, Delivery, Cost) defines how we operate and succeed. Safety and Legal Compliance sit at the foundation of all outcomes, enabling us to deliver quality products, meet customer expectations, and operate sustainably.

As our EHS Manager at Parkhurst, you play a critical leadership role in protecting our people, strengthening our culture, and ensuring the foundation of SLQDC remains strong across our operations. This is more than a compliance role—it’s about visible leadership, influencing behaviour, and embedding a proactive, zero-harm mindset across the site and broader organisation.

The opportunity.

Reporting into site and functional leadership, you will:

  • Lead the Health, Safety & Environment strategy for the Parkhurst facility
  • Embed a visible, values-driven safety culture aligned to Komatsu’s Zero Harm commitment
  • Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance across EHS and environmental obligations
  • Partner with leaders to build accountability, capability, and ownership at all levels
  • Drive continuous improvement through risk management, incident prevention, and data insights
  • Influence strategic outcomes that impact site performance and organisational integrity

About you.

You are an experienced EHS leader who brings both technical expertise and the ability to influence culture. You understand that safety leadership is about presence, trust, and consistency—not just systems.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, mining, or heavy industry environment
  • Strong knowledge of EHS legislation and environmental compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cultural change and improve safety maturity
  • Experience working with operational leaders to drive accountability
  • Confidence to challenge, influence, and coach at all levels of the organisation

Critical skills required for success.

Business Acumen. Understands how EHS performance drives broader business outcomes. Aligns safety initiatives with SLQDC priorities and organisational strategy.

Collaboration. Builds strong, trust-based relationships across operations, leadership, and support functions. Works effectively across teams to drive shared accountability.

Leadership. Demonstrates visible, values-based safety leadership. Inspires and influences others to prioritise safety and take ownership.

Hunter Mentality. Proactively identifies risks, opportunities, and improvement areas. Drives continuous improvement rather than reacting to incidents.

Applied Knowledge / Technical Expertise. Deep understanding of EHS systems, legislation, and risk management. Translates technical requirements into practical, operational actions.

Adaptability & Agility. Responds effectively to changing priorities and operational demands. Navigates complexity while maintaining focus on safety outcomes.
