How you will help us create value together:

As an International Operations Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Trade & Customs Compliance/International Operations team.  The team is responsible for ensuring compliance with global regulations.  Activities will include processing international documentation, sending requests for information to process international paperwork and perform compliance analyses, as well as day to day activities, and project support for the Trade and Customs Compliance/International Operations teams.

This position will be based onsite at our Milwaukee Distribution Center in Oak Creek, WI. The target start date for this role is Summer 2023 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2023 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support in processing international shipments
    • Process US export documentation
    • Facilitate with regions, and customs brokers collecting the necessary information to make US Customs clearance
    • Support in country-of-origin determination for manufactured and purchased parts
    • Support tariff number (HTS) and export control classification (ECCN) assignment requests.
    • Support in Free Trade Agreement analysis and qualification process

Qualifications we look for

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in business, logistics, or supply chain management, or similar, from an accredited college or university
  • Sophomore, junior, senior level student in good academic standing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
