Job Overview
Komatsu are currently seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join our underground team at our Moss Vale facility. This position will be a 6-month contract to cover leave and the current high workload, with opportunity for permanency at completion.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage open orders and provide ongoing system maintenance to accurately reflect the requirement of the business
- Expedite inventory from suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction and timeous production / customer commitment
- Review of supplier capabilities, performance and value add to Komatsu
- Liaise with Suppliers on day to day basis for any components required - based on portfolio
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and contracts
- Keep the Procurement, Planning and Fulfilment Managers well informed as needed or required with regards to any issues pertaining to goods availability and Supplier issues
- Ability to seek ways to continuously improve external and internal customer satisfaction with product or service quality and on‐time delivery
- Develop effective and measurable strategy for identified risks within the procurement function
Qualifications/Requirements
- SAP & Excel Experience
- Minimum 5 years supply chain experienced; demonstratable procurement experience driving solutions via supply base to achieve business demands
- Experience in the manufacturing process of heavy industrialised products and the tooling needed to ensure an efficient and controlled outcome is achieved both for new suppliers and mature ones
- Ability to prioritise and adapt to changing business demands while providing the highest level of customer service
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings specifications and technical data and communicate this to suppliers and internally as required achieving objectives set
- High level of communication and negotiation skills
- Attention to detail is critical in conjunction with the ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities, meet strict deadlines
- Application of strategy aligned with risk management principles
- Strong business acumen
