Job Overview

Komatsu are currently seeking a Planner to join our underground team at our Moss Vale facility. This position will be a 6-month contract to cover leave and the current high workload, with opportunity for permanency at completion.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate item master data base for all parts, ensuring all material master parameters in SAP are correctly set and maintained
  • Set system Stocking Tools in MRP to ensure sufficient and effective parts support.
  • Monitor parts performance against LIF (Line-Item Fill) to ensure Customer expectations are meet.
  • Monitor Review forecast to ensure component/part availability to meet requirements. Control the MRP tools which launch the purchasing and production requirements.
  • Manage all parts shortages on planning BOM`s to support, Rebuilds, Repairs, Shutdowns, Parts Sales, etc.
  • Cancel/Defer Message Management (Inter Company Planned order process)-  review requirements and flex to changes driving requests to expedite, postpone or cancel through procurement.
  • Inventory Mitigation, Avoidance, and redistribution to local and global regions via the E&O and Proshare process
  • Monitoring and reporting on planning and inventory control performances against agreed KPI`s
  • Review results of National MRP run by product and release of planned requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • SAP & Excel Experience
  • A broad and in-depth knowledge of purchasing, manufacturing, materials and inventory management, quality, information systems, finance, and engineering drawings.  
  • Previous experience in inventory control and/or inventory management is essential.
  • Solid decision-making skills, strong analytical skills, and demonstrate critical-thinking abilities
  • Business acumen to understand supply chain concepts and how they impact the bottom line.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills Previous Technical Background or demonstrated previous experience in a technical planning role (in manufacturing or mining preferable)
  • Attention to detail is critical in conjunction with the ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities, meet strict deadlines
