Job Purpose
The Mining Solutions Consultant plays a critical role in enabling customer success through the strategic deployment of mine services and digital tools. This role is accountable for driving site readiness, aligning customer needs with technology solutions, and accelerating product adoption through targeted business cases and value-in-use demonstration. The consultant supports sales and business planning by identifying and converting opportunities, building robust pipelines, and formalizing consulting practices across operational roadmaps.
This position leads initiatives to embed consulting and digital tools into core strategies, implements systems to enhance lead generation and conversion, and standardizes technical proposals to improve delivery quality. The Consultant also contributes to cultural transformation by linking strategic goals to daily execution and planning. As a key contributor to Komatsu-aligned initiatives, the role ensures integration of OEM solutions into customer value chains, supporting long-term growth and ecosystem adoption.
Travel Requirements
Up to 50% travel to the rest of Africa as well as abroad
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree in Mining/Industrial Engineering or Computer Science.
- Additional Qualification in Management will be an advantage.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in consulting in mining technology and digitalisation
- 5+ years of experience in mining industry or consultancy work experience in middle management positions pertaining to mine planning, mine operations or mine technology
- Deep understanding of the EMEA, South Africa, Central Asia, and India markets, along with a focus on customer-centric approaches.
- Demonstrated success in driving customer engagement through roadmaps, optimizing value, and achieving measurable improvements.

Customer Success Strategy & Leadership
- Execute a regional Mining services strategy focused on aligning customer needs with technology solutions and accelerating product adoption.
- Participate in a mine consulting project implementation and resource planning to deliver measurable customer value.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and execution across Europe, South Africa, Africa Central Asia, and India.
Customer Value Optimisation
- Maximize customer value through usage of mining technology solutions, tailored success roadmaps, and measurable ROI.
- Drive upsells and cross-sell opportunities, ensure quality Value-in-Use case studies.
- Provide clear goals to improve the quality and impact of Mine consulting deliverables.
Internal Business Process
- Implement and maintain robust Quality Assurance systems and the Consulting processes within the department.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, including travel and governance directives, and drive accountability for process adherence across the team.
Compliance
- Ensure full adherence to legislative, customer site, Modular Mining, and Komatsu policies and systems across all countries of operation, always holding team members accountable for compliance.
Safety Leadership
- Promote and maintain a physically and psychologically safe working environment across all Modular/MTS offices, customer sites, and travel locations.
- Proactively identify and address safety risks, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
