Job Overview

We are looking to add a Federal Tax Analyst to our Corporate Tax team.  The role will provide an opportunity to obtain a broad-based knowledge in all areas of federal tax, while learning about and partnering with the business.  The Federal Tax Analyst will be exposed to compliance, planning and tax accounting in connection with federal taxes.   The individual will deliver value through continuous process improvement in the tax compliance and reporting area.   The position reports directly to the Manager, Federal Tax and will also work closely with the Senior Manager, Federal Tax.

Key Job Responsibilities

Tax Accounting and Compliance:

  • Prepare portions of the quarterly and annual federal tax provision.  Direct preparation of separate entity provisions, including the gathering of supporting data and documentation.
  • Key team member in preparing supporting documentation for internal reporting to Japan and external financial reporting.
  • Preparation of federal tax returns including separate company proformas, elimination entities, sub-consolidations and consolidated tax return.  Meet the timeline for completion and work to generate efficiencies in the preparation process.
  • Support eliminations accounting and reporting for income tax compliance.
  • Support data collection and analysis of the fixed assets of the Company. 
  • Assist in preparation of several key federal tax calculations including the R&D credit, foreign-derived intangible income deduction, base erosion and anti-abuse tax, and others, as assigned.   

Operations and Planning:

  • Manage the OneSource system process for the quarterly provision and income tax compliance.  Comfortable with using tax software.  Willingness to learn and improve process for data import/export into the system.
  • Primary collector of data in support of the federal return and provisions – with special focus on rental fleet fixed assets, sales calculations and other needs to appropriate source and represent income on the federal tax return.
  • Lead the team in learning new data analysis tools, implementing best-practices in data management in support of the tax function.  Willingness to learn new tools and teach the larger department.
     

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience with federal income taxes for corporations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.  Advanced degree in accounting or tax preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant or other certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external clients.
  • Familiarity with OneSource software platform or other similar national software platform, the SAP ERP platform and general Microsoft Office tools.
  • Comfort in managing schedules to complete multiple projects with strict deadlines.
