Job Overview

The Total Rewards Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to effectively engage team members and drive high levels of participation in programs. This position will create a total rewards communications strategy that aligns with the company's business strategy and culture. They will be a critical resource on our journey to attract and retain a high performing workforce, improve population health, enhance membership, and drive financial wellness. This role will collaborate with HR leadership, key business partners, and external vendors, providing strategic communications support for compensation, health and wellbeing communications—encompassing mental, physical, and financial benefits we offer team members—and other total rewards and human resources communications as needed.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Create messages and communications that are engaging, detailed, accurate, and concise, and tailored to a range of topics that span department-wide to enterprise-wide messaging, leadership communications, meeting presentations, video scripts, key messages, and talking points.
  • Serve as an internal communications consultant and advisor for HR total rewards programs and other HR priorities and projects as assigned.
  • Lead, develop, and implement effective total rewards communications strategy in alignment with broader human capital strategies and company goals.
  • Collaborate with others to develop and implement programs and communication materials for targeted audiences that enhance awareness and utilization of total reward programs and services.
  • Coordinate the timing, messaging and means of delivery for communications from various benefit vendors, acting as the central point of contact as it relates to communications for these vendors.
  • Taylor communications materials and means of delivery for a diverse workforce to meet the needs of our workforce and their families.
  • Ensure brand and message alignment and coordination of communications.
  • Work closely with HR Leadership on best practices for communicating total rewards offerings and other important HR-related topics across the organization and within HR.
  • Maintain records, documents, contacts, and other sources of communication are essential to the performance of duties.
  • Stay current with trends and platform updates to optimize content for maximum reach and engagement.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university required with a preferred degree program of Communications or Human Resources.
  • Five years of related experience in HR Communications, Corporate Communications, or related field.
  • Experience with a range of communication technologies and channels such as intranet, email, content management systems, etc.
  • Project management and communication planning skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong collaborative and consultative skills. Ability to cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, gain trust of business leaders quickly, and influence without authority.
  • High level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently, as a member of a team, as well with all types and levels of employees.
  • Agility to work and prioritize efforts in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Discretion to handle sensitive or proprietary company information in a confidential manner.
  • Proactive, flexible, results-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Position may at times require travel. Estimated travel is 10% or less throughout the year.

Hiring Range 

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $85,920-$107,400. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
