Job Overview

The Technical Specialist Role at Komatsu will be heavily responsible for Creative Designs for Mining Drill Products/Applications.   This Role will also be involved with mentoring lower level Technical Specialists as needed and will consistently interact with many cross-functional areas including but not limited to Marketing, Parts, Product Support, R&D, along with Drill Engineering Group, etc.    

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Design and Detail of structures, electrical, machinery or air/hydraulic systems for Mining Drill Products/Applications
  • Creation of ERN documentation
  • Design principles and practices, and manufacturing processes
  • Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional departments (Marketing, Parts, Product Support, R&D)
  • Performing Engineering Calculations and some MRB tasks
  • Creative Product Designs to improve safety, performance and applications.
  • Mentoring of other lower-level Technical Specialists and conducting some formal new employee training as needed



  • Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Design Technology (Highly Preferred Discipline)
  • 5+ years of Experience in Mechanical/Structural Engineering
