Job Overview

Responsible for leading and consolidating financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting, and business analysis for KMC (Komatsu Mining Corp) retail operations and Komatsu West. The role owns the monthly results process, annual business plan, periodic outlooks, headcount planning, and capital planning for the Retail function.
Provides a consistent Retail view across both businesses while maintaining the entity-level submissions and operational detail required for each. Translates financial results into clear business drivers, risks, opportunities, and actions for Retail leadership.
Serves as the primary FP&A business partner to Retail leaders and Controllers, supporting decisions related to sales, gross margin, operating expense, inventory, rental fleet, working capital, capital spending, and cash performance. Leads standardization and process improvement across KMC and Komatsu West, including support for the Komatsu West S/4 transition and related reporting improvements.

Key Job Responsibilities

Retail Financial Planning and Consolidation: Own and coordinate the annual business plan, periodic outlooks, headcount plan, and rolling capital plan for KMC and Komatsu West. Establish timelines and assumptions, consolidate entity and branch inputs, and ensure complete and internally consistent submissions.
Prepare the consolidated Retail view and supporting presentation materials for KNA and KLTD reporting requirements. Identify forecast risks and opportunities, challenge unsupported assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy over time.

Monthly Performance Reporting and Variance Analysis: Lead the Retail monthly results process and compare actual performance against plan, outlook, prior year, and other relevant benchmarks. Partner with regional accounting teams to gather and consolidate variance commentary and supporting business drivers into a clear Retail-level performance summary. Review submissions for completeness, consistency, and alignment with reported results, and follow up on material gaps or conflicting explanations. Reconcile management reporting and entity submissions to source systems, distinguish timing items from ongoing performance issues, and document actions, owners, and expected financial impact.

Retail Business Partnership and Decision Support: Serve as the primary FP&A partner to KMC and Komatsu West leadership, Controllers, and functional teams. Translate financial results into practical business implications and provide scenario analysis for pricing and margin, inventory and rental fleet decisions, staffing, spending, and capital investments.
Provide clear recommendations, constructively challenge assumptions, and follow through with business owners on agreed actions and results.
Process Standardization, Systems, and Controls: Standardize planning, forecasting, and reporting processes across KMC and Komatsu West while preserving required entity-level detail. Simplify manual consolidations, strengthen documentation and controls, and develop scalable templates and reporting routines.
Support ERP, planning, consolidation, and reporting improvements, including the Komatsu West S/4 transition and related SAP, CDK, OneStream, STRAVIS, and Power BI processes, as applicable. Coordinate testing, training, and adoption with Finance and business users.

Working Capital and Financial Stewardship: Monitor inventory, rental fleet, receivables, payables, capital spending, and other cash drivers. Partner with Controllers and operating leaders to connect balance sheet movements to business activity, identify corrective actions, and maintain accurate financial reporting and appropriate controls.
Strategic Initiatives and Functional Leadership: Lead special projects and ad hoc analysis that support Retail strategy, profitability, and operating efficiency. Provide functional direction, training, and mentoring to finance and business contributors, share best practices across the Retail function, and apply the principles of the KOMATSU Way in daily work.
