Job Overview
As a member of the Supply Chain Team, The Strategic Sourcing-Contract Specialist drafts, negotiates, and manages contracts with Komatsu suppliers to ensure favorable terms and mitigate risks while maintaining accurate and up-to-date contract documentation in the database.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Drafts, negotiates, and manages contracts with Komatsu suppliers to ensure favorable terms and mitigate risks
- Owns the Legal SharePoint Repository and is responsible for adding new suppliers and cleaning up the current database.
- Monitors contract performance, resolving disputes and ensuring suppliers meet agreed-upon deliverables and service levels.
- Works closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.
- Builds and maintains long-term partnerships with key suppliers, ensuring collaboration and mutual success.
- Facilitates regular communication with suppliers and internal teams to address challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Fosters strong relationships with internal teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to ensure alignment of sourcing activities with business objectives.
- Develops and facilitates internal contract and negotiation trainings for NA
- Supports Corporate Strategic Sourcing team with special project tasks where assigned
- Assist Strategic Souring Manager with Supplier Annual Business Reviews
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or Business required. An associate’s degree in combination with relevant experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of relevant working experience
- Experience working in an ERP environment. SAP knowledge highly preferred
- Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) necessary
- Ability to build professional working relationships internally and externally
- Analytical/critical thinking skills
- Ability to document process and procedures
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Must be able to prioritize assignments
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal) with a strong focus on customer service
- Ability to apply innovative thinking, exercise independent judgment, explore alternatives, recommend outcomes and establish a course of action to accomplish specific goals
Additional Information
Hiring Range
At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $66,600 - $83,200 - $99,800. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
